U.S. Embassy's warnings about Russia's massive attack on Ukraine are legit - Ukraine's Navy
Ukrainian Navy Reserve Captain Andrii Ryzhenko believes that the U.S. has information about Russia's preparations for a massive attack on Ukraine in the coming days
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Indeed, the Americans don't often make statements about massive attacks on Ukrainian territory, but if they do warn, it should be taken very seriously. There really are reasons for this. An example of this is their warnings on the eve of Russia's invasion in February 2022. Back then, President Joe Biden almost said on live TV that we should look at Hostomel. So I think they have information about a possible attack Ukrainian territory during the Independence Day celebrations. They analyze the activity and training of the Russian strategic forces. Therefore, the warnings of the Americans should be taken seriously," Ryzhenko explained.
The captain called on Ukrainians to respond to air raid alerts in the coming days.
"It is very good that we have recently damaged Russia's strategic forces. I mean the destroyed Mig-31 aircraft. We have few air defense systems capable of intercepting Kinzhal missiles. But still, the threat remains very high. The Russians have a certain phobia of dedicating massive attacks to certain dates. Therefore, attacks are very likely these days. Moreover, this is confirmed by the fact that there has not been a massive attack on Ukrainian territory for a relatively long time. We need to be careful and respond to air alerts," he added.
- On August 22, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv warned U.S. citizens in Ukraine of the increased risk of Russian drone and missile attacks on Independence Day.
