All border settlements with Russia destroyed: Ukrainian border guard on Sumy situation
Ivan Shevtsov, head of the press service of Ukraine’s 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment, highlighted that Russian drones are actively targeting Ukrainian servicemen and conducting reconnaissance missions
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“The brigade is stationed in areas of active hostilities in the Sumy region, as well as along the state border with Russia in the Chernihiv region. The border with Russia is a combat contact line. While there are no active assault operations along the state border, enemy drones are actively targeting our servicemen, and the enemy is conducting extensive reconnaissance,” Shevtsov stated.
According to the head of the press service, nearly all border settlements in the Sumy region along the border with Russia have been wiped off the map. Russia has almost completely destroyed them and continues to relentlessly shell the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces along the state border.
"However, we are not standing still. Despite being border guards, we have our own guns, mortars, and MLRS. When we see the enemy attempting to advance or groups approaching, we stop them. After all, in the Sumy sector, we also have the Kursk region nearby, where active hostilities are ongoing, and our artillery is actively working in this area," Shevtsov added.
