Ukrainians are urged to install solar power stations. This will give power system up to 1 GW of capacity
The installation of small individual solar installations by private households can add about 1 GW of capacity to the Ukrainian power system
This was stated by Ruslan Slobodyan, Head of the State Energy Supervision Agency.
"Solar generation, which today supports our power system during the daytime, is not only large powerful stations owned by businesses, but also all private small solar power units, of which we already have thousands. They make an extremely significant contribution to supporting Ukraine's energy independence," he said.
According to him, large solar power plants currently produce about 3 GW of power daily, but an increase in the number of individual solar plants could add about 1 GW to the grid.
"The government gives the maximum green light for the development of distributed generation. All opportunities are open for the fastest possible development: the connection procedure has been significantly simplified, and regional power distribution companies are obliged to issue technical specifications for connecting power grids within two days, not 10 days as it was before. Also, all permits have been simplified as much as possible - now only a certificate from the Military and Civilian Administration on the need to install such a facility is enough," said Slobodyan.
As for the cost of solar panels, according to the head of the State Energy Supervision Agency, the minimum basic set of 5 kW costs from USD 5 thousand.
