Ukraine shoots down another Russian Su-34 fighter jet
On Saturday, March 2, the defenders of Ukraine targeted another Russian Su-34 military aircraft
This statement was officially made by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, at around 19:00.
"The Eastern Air Command confirms the downing of a Su-34 fighter-bomber. Unfortunately, it was only one," Oleshchuk said.
Before that, after 17:00, based on preliminary information from his subordinates, he did not rule out that there could be two downed Russian planes.
"We have just fired anti-aircraft guided missiles at two enemy Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft. We are waiting for confirmation of the desired result!", the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force first reported.
According to him, these are tactical aircraft that are dropping guided aerial bombs on towns and villages in eastern Ukraine.
- In recent days, the number of Russian aircraft shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has increased dramatically. Experts attribute this to both the fact that Russian enemy aircraft are forced to fly closer to the front line and the fact that Russians have become even more "blind" in the sky after the last downing of an A-50 long-range radar tracking aircraft on February 23.
