Still no sign of Russian long-range radar detection aircraft over Sea of Azov - Ukrainian Air Force Commander
The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, said that Ukrainian pilots target Russian fighter jets almost every day. After significant losses, Russia has reduced its activity in the sky
This was reported on Telegram.
"Just yesterday, we fired at enemy aircraft at a distance of more than 150 km. We are still working today! We are checking the result of combat work!" Oleshchuk wrote.
He also noted that Russian forces continue to attack the positions of the Ukrainian army with guided aerial bombs, but no longer dares to fly too close.
Nevertheless, Russian forces have significantly reduced the number of air strikes with guided bombs, after significant losses, such as A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft and Su-34/Su-35 fighter jets.
In addition, according to the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, there are still no long-range radar detection aircraft over the Sea of Azov or in other areas. This reduces Russia's ability to conduct radar reconnaissance.
"According to our information, certain 'discussions' have already begun among Russian pilots about the military leadership's decision to send them one way. Such discussions, and possibly sabotage during the performance of tasks by the occupiers, will only increase when the Air Force receives more tools from Western partners to protect our skies from enemy air attacks," said Mykola Oleshchuk.
- On March 5, Dmytro Lykhoviy, a spokesman for the joint press centre of the Tavria Defence Forces, said that Russian infantry in the ground offensive already had less air support.
