Russian forces break through south of Kupyansk - DeepState
In the Kharkiv region, Russian forces have made significant progress toward the Oskil River and the Oskil Reservoir near Kruhliakivka village, south of Kupyansk town
The DeepState monitoring project reported this on September 22, 2024.
"The enemy continues to move towards the Borova-Kupyansk-Kupyansk Vuzlovyi road, which is the main logistics route in the area. At the beginning of the occupation of Pishchane, the invaders first continued to attack in the direction of Kolisnykivka, and then to the north, reaching the heights. But when they encountered resistance, they began to look for another vector of movement and found a weakness in the lowlands towards the inhabited Kruglyakivka, where they had their last successes," the statement says.
The road connection between Kupyansk and Borova is under threat.
In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are making efforts to stop the enemy, including the use of drones.
"As of today, the Russians are storming with the available forces and there are prospects for their exhaustion. But if they pull up reserves, the available resources will allow them to build on their success and threaten to break down logistics, which will be a very bad consequence. The enemy has long been actively using FPV drones on the roads and aircraft on the crossings and wiping out settlements," DeepState emphasizes.
In turn, the General Staff in its report on the situation at the front as of 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, confirms the Russian army's attempt to advance towards Ukrainian positions in the Kupyansk sector in the vicinity of 6 villages, including Kruhliakivka.
"Five enemy attacks are still ongoing. A total of ten firefights were registered in the sector. The Russians dropped a total of nine bombs in the areas of Kupyansk, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, and Pershotravneve," the Ukrainian command said.
- On the morning of September 19, the Russian army shelled the town of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. As a result, 6 people were injured.
