Russian army attacks Krynky in Kherson region daily, but Ukrainian troops hold positions
Kherson Regional Council member Serhiy Khlan says that holding positions on Dnipro's left bank is coming at a high price for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
He shared this on Espreso TV.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding a foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro. The invading Russian troops attack Krynky every day and make numerous attempts to attack the left bank. But the Ukrainian Armed Forces repel all enemy attacks and hold their positions. The Defense Forces are also holding their positions near the Antonivskyi bridge," emphasized Khlan.
According to a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, the Russians are silent regarding the Ukrainian Armed Forces holding a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro.
"Because the left bank bridgehead is a sensitive topic for the invading Russian forces, in terms of the propaganda machine that the Russians have unleashed on the left bank of the Kherson region. Even the Russian military, which initially showed what was happening on the left bank and covered the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were holding the bridgehead and even expanding it, are now silent. The occupiers believe that nothing terrible is happening. We understand that holding these positions comes at a high price for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And this is a heroic task performed by Ukrainian defenders on the left bank of the Dnipro River," noted Khlan.
- The Kremlin instructed the FSB border guards to tighten control on the border of the temporarily occupied Crimea and the seized part of Kherson region.
- Over the course of January 31, 52 combat engagements took place at the front. Russia attempted to storm the positions of the Defense Forces 47 times, but did not attack in the Shakhtarsk sector.
