This was announced by Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"Almost 580,000 are the ground component that is directly involved in hostilities," Skibitskyi said.
He clarified that these figures also include the military in the Kursk region.
In addition, according to him, a grouping of almost 35,000 Russian Guard troops is currently deployed in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
- The rate of recruitment in Russia is declining, particularly among recruits willing to go to war for financial incentives.
