Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, explained that Russia is ramping up its disinformation campaign in Western media to spread this message.
According to Kovalenko, by doing so, Russia hopes to intimidate the West into changing its stance on supporting Ukraine. However, Kovalenko pointed out that Russia is not pushing this narrative in the Global South, as it needs the backing of countries like China and India. Even in its disinformation strategy, Russia is tailoring its message to different regions.
- The embassies of the United States, Spain, Italy, and Greece received specific warnings about a potential major Russian air attack on Ukraine on Wednesday, November 20. The Center for Countering Disinformation reported that Russia has been stockpiling missiles in preparation for a series of attacks on Ukraine over several months.
