Negotiations must demand Russia’s withdrawal from both Ukraine, Belarus — Belarusian opposition leader
Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya claims that Russia's presence in Belarus poses a threat to both Belarusians and the entire region
She shared her openions with Espreso TV.
Tsikhanouskaya was asked to comment on reports about the alleged deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus.
"There is currently no concrete confirmation that nuclear weapons are actually in Belarus. However, all the necessary infrastructure has been established. Of course, both the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile and nuclear weapons are tools of information and psychological warfare. Their goal is to pressure Western countries, divert resources from Ukraine, and force Poland and other allies to spend more on their own defense," said the opposition leader.
"For Putin, both nuclear weapons and Oreshnik are also a means to exert greater control over Belarus. It is clear that all this weaponry in Belarus will be under Putin's control," she added.
According to her, the Belarusian opposition will insist on the withdrawal of Russian troops not only from Ukraine but also from Belarus.
"Russia's presence in Belarus is a threat to both Belarusians and the entire region. That is why we insist: if there are negotiations regarding Ukraine, we must demand the withdrawal of Russian troops and weapons not only from Ukraine but also from Belarus. Only this way can sustainable peace be achieved!" she emphasized.
