As of today, it is unclear how the Russian-Ukrainian war will end, so it is premature to talk about the possibility of starting an election campaign in Ukraine

Reserve Major General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhii Kryvonos, shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"Currently, we must clearly understand that the war is not over yet. It is unclear how it will end. We are laying out all the cards in the solitaire, but we understand that the deck is not in our hands, and we don’t know what 'jokers' Putin has. His stubbornness and unwillingness to influence certain situations remain unchanged," noted Kryvonos.

The reserve Major General pointed out that "due to the inaction of the government from 2019 to 2022, Ukraine lost a significant amount of territory and hundreds of thousands of people." Therefore, in his opinion, Putin will continue to try to press further.

"Right now, we shouldn't focus solely on political issues. The number one task is to ask the government: why, dear government, have you still not transitioned the economy to operate under special period conditions? Why are you not fully implementing the law on mobilization and mobilization preparation? Elections are elections, but the guys currently in the trenches aren’t thinking about elections. They’re thinking about how to protect their country, destroy as many enemies as possible, and return home alive," emphasized Kryvonos.

Note: Serhii Kryvonos is a reserve Major General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a political and military figure, the first deputy commander of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (2016-2019), and deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (2019-2020).

  • U.S. President Donald Trump expressed a desire to meet with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in the near future to "end this war."
  • Political analyst and Director of the Center for Public and Information Technologies Forum, Valerii Dymov, says that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Putin was the one setting conditions, but now conditions are being imposed on him.
