Russia increases activity in Donetsk, tanks likely headed to Pokrovsk — Center for Occupation Studies
Petro Andriushchenko, the head of the Center for Occupation Studies, former advisor to the Mariupol mayor, reports a column of Russian tanks moving from Berdyansk, likely towards Pokrovsk
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“We are at the stage when new contract soldiers have been brought around Mariupol again, and they are preparing. On the one hand, the movement has slowed down because the Russians have mobilized everyone they could over the past month and are now engaged in new recruitment,” noted Andriushchenko.
According to the head of the Center for Occupation Studies, on January 23, there were notable movements of military equipment, with tanks being relocated both at night and throughout the day. Such activity had not been observed for a long time.
“We observed a convoy, somewhat fragmented, consisting of about ten tanks being transported from the Berdyansk direction toward Volnovakha. This likely means they were moved further toward Pokrovsk. It has been a long time since tanks were openly transported during the day and evening. This is very significant,” emphasized Andriushchenko.
- Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted losses on Russian forces over the past day, eliminating at least 1,500 troops, destroying 39 artillery systems and 11 armored vehicles.
- Ukraine’s Defense Forces are engaged in exhausting battles near Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region. They have planned actions in case of a worsening tactical situation.
