Ukraine reports 117 combat clashes at front, tense situation in Pokrovsk sector

Shelling of Ukraine

Border settlements continue to suffer from cynical shelling from Russian territory, including Velyka Pysarivka, Hirky, Pokrovka, and Kucheryvka in the Sumy region; and Yanzhulivka in the Chernihiv region.

Frontline situation

Kharkiv direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy assault near Vovchansk.

Kupyansk direction: Russia launched nine assaults near Pishchane, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Zahryzove. Four combat engagements are ongoing.

Lyman direction: The invading army attacked 11 times near Novoiehorivka, Kopanky, Zelena Dolyna, and Torske. Four engagements remain unresolved.

Kramatorsk direction: Defense Forces are repelling 25 attacks near Chasiv Yar, Vasiukivka, Novomarkove, and Bila Hora, with 17 combat engagements still ongoing.

Toretsk direction: The Russian army launched 13 attacks near Toretsk, Krymske, Leonidivka, and Shcherbynivka. Four assaults are still ongoing.

Pokrovsk direction: Since the start of the day, the invading Russian troops have made 46 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Pokrovske, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novoelyzavetivka, Uspenivka, Sribne, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne. The Defense Forces are holding their ground, repelling 30 attacks, while 16 combat engagements are still underway. Enemy losses are being clarified.

Novopavlivka direction: The enemy attempted one attack near Kostiantynopil; the battle is ongoing.

Orikhiv direction: Supported by aviation, Russia launched three assaults toward Mala Tokmachka and Novodanilivka.

Prydniprovskyi direction: Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy attacks, with one combat engagement still ongoing.

In the Kursk operational zone, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled six enemy attacks throughout the day, with five assaults still underway. Russia conducted over 240 shellings, including four using multiple rocket launchers.

The situation on other parts of the frontline has not undergone significant changes.

• On the evening of January 23, the Russian army launched attack drones into Ukrainian territory. As a result of the enemy attack in the Kyiv region, a residential building was damaged, with casualties and injuries reported.
