Russia aims to capture Toretsk to advance on Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region
The head of the Toretsk Military Administration, Vasyl Chynchyk, reported that battles are currently ongoing for the Toretska mine
He stated this on Espreso TV.
"The enemy's strategic goal is to capture the town and use Toretsk's territory as a foothold for advancing toward Kostiantynivka, particularly conducting active military operations from the side of Chasiv Yar. The enemy is trying to achieve this goal as quickly as possible, making every effort to fully take control of the Toretsk community," Chynchyk noted.
The official also added that the situation is dynamically changing: sometimes the enemy advances, and sometimes the Defense Forces put up a strong resistance and push the occupiers back. However, the overall situation remains tense and difficult.
"Currently, battles are indeed ongoing for the Toretska mine. We have part of the town where our guys are holding the defense—it's the residential cooperative area. Our soldiers are putting up strong resistance. As for the territory of the Toretsk community—villages such as Shcherbynivka, Novospaska, Nelipivka, and Leonidivka—our troops are also holding the line, defending our land, slowing down the enemy's advance toward Kostiantynivka, and delivering devastating strikes to the occupiers," emphasized Chynchyk.
