Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Defense advocates export of Ukrainian-made drones
Dana Yarova, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, member of the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defence, believes that in two years Ukraine has made a major breakthrough in the development of unmanned systems, so Ukrainian manufacturers should have opportunity to export drones
She expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
‘Today, the production of drones in Ukraine has already reached a level where there is talk of opening exports for Ukrainian drone manufacturers. This will be an important step for the Ukrainian economy. Our producers have reached a very high level of manufacturing various types of drones, from small FPVs to unmanned wings.
I believe that it will be the right decision to enable our economy and start exporting what the Ministry of Defense cannot buy, and to give people the space to develop this sector, attracting foreign currency into the economy. This is extremely important in times of war, as economies are also at war,’ said the advisor to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Dana Yarovaya stressed that in just two years, Ukraine has made a breakthrough in the development of unmanned systems, so manufacturers should be given the opportunity to export their drones. If, in addition to the MoD's procurement, there is capacity to develop further, then they should be given this opportunity. Accordingly, there is hope that Ukraine will become a serious exporter of combat-proven weapons, and this will give a powerful boost to the country's economy.
- On October 2, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that next year Ukraine plans to increase funding for the production of drones, long-range weapons and ballistic missiles.
