Over 340 arson attacks on military's vehicles recorded across Ukraine this year
In 2024, the National Police of Ukraine reported 341 arson attacks on vehicles belonging to military servicemen
This was announced by Andrii Nebytov, Deputy Head of the National Police, according to Ukrinform.
"Since the start of 2024, Russian special services have been actively recruiting Ukrainian citizens through social media to carry out such attacks, damage property, disrupt the Armed Forces' operations, and commit sabotage. So far, we’ve recorded 341 cases of arson on vehicles belonging to Ukrainian servicemen," Nebytov said.
He also mentioned that in 219 cases, people were issued notices of suspicion. Nebytov noted that while these incidents were rare in 2023, this activity significantly increased in early 2024."
"Massive, systematic efforts by Russian special services began at the start of this year. Most of these crimes happened in the spring and summer, but their numbers have dropped significantly due to preventive measures, search operations, and the arrest of some suspects," he added.
