Russian propaganda video features Santa Claus shot down amid aviation tragedy

In a bizarre propaganda effort, Russian media has released a video depicting Santa Claus being shot down by Russian air defenses, followed by Ded Moroz (Russia's version of Santa Claus), who declares, "We don’t need anything foreign."

The timing of the video is particularly controversial, as it comes on the heels of a tragic incident involving a Russian air defense system. An Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190, flying from Baku to Grozny, was shot down, resulting in significant loss of life. 

The video has fueled further backlash, as it appears to mock "foreign" influences while Russia itself faces international scrutiny over the incident, with many seeing it as a stark reminder of Russia's deflection tactics in the face of mounting accountability for its actions.
