This was announced by Nadiia Kuzmychova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, according to Suspilne.
Kuzmychova said that 79 of these facilities are currently under active construction, with up to 10 expected to be completed by the end of this year.
She explained that the underground schools are being built in frontline and border regions that are under constant shelling.
"We expect all of these facilities to be finished by September 1, 2025," she added. "In January 2024, we are starting a new phase and will allocate more funds for these projects."
- In June, it was reported that more than 25% of Ukrainian children couldn't go to school because of the war and Russia's attacks.
