Quarter of Ukrainian children cannot attend school because of war
Over 25% of Ukrainian children can't attend school due to the war and Russia's constant attacks
This comes from a study by Texty.org.ua, based on data from the Institute of Educational Analytics.
As of April 2024, over 620,000 children in Ukraine were studying remotely – shown in red on the infographics, and nearly 300,000 in a mixed format (both face-to-face and online) – shown in blue. Over 2.7 million children regularly attend school – shown in green. However, even those who go to school face disruptions during air raids, as shelters are typically not equipped for teaching.
Data shows that mainly schools in Ukraine's northern, eastern, and southern regions are operating remotely. Over 1,600 schools have all their students studying remotely.

Most full-time students are in western and central Ukraine. In Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Ternopil regions, there are no remote schools. The Lviv region has only one remote school.
The Dnipropetrovsk region has the most schools operating in a mixed format.
In Kyiv, most schools with remote or mixed education are private institutions.
