162 combat clashes erupt along Russia-Ukraine frontline: Russia increases activity in Lyman sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report on Dec.28.

According to the updated information, on Dec.27 Russia launched 37 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian military and populated areas, in particular, dropped 48 guided bombs. In addition, the Russian forces used nearly 1,900 ‘kamikaze’ drones and fired over 5,100 times, including 222 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

14 settlements were hit by Russian airstrikes on Dec.27.

The aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian manpower and weapons concentration area, a command post, and an air defense system.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops launched two attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces carried out five attacks. The Defense Forces repelled Russia's offensive actions near Petropavlivka and Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, Russia launched 20 attacks with the support of attack and bomber aircraft. The main offensive efforts were focused near Pershotravneve, Novoiehorivka, Nadiia, Terny, Torske, Zarichne, Dibrova, and the Serebrianskyi Forest.

In the Siversk sector, Russian troops attacked four times near Bilohorivka and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian occupation army carried out five attacks near Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces, supported by aviation, launched ten attacks near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Diliivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 52 attacks near Myrolyubivka, Promin, Vozdvizhenka, Lysivka, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Shevchenko, Novoyelyzavetivka, Novovasylyivka, and Vovkove.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Defense Forces repelled 18 attacks. Russia concentrated its efforts near Petropavlivka, Sloviansk, Dachne, and Kurakhove.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian army, supported by aviation, carried out 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopilske, Rozlyv, Novyi Komar, and Novodarivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russians unsuccessfully attempted to advance once near Bilohirya.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the invading Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions three times. They were fiercely repulsed and suffered losses.

The operation in the Kursk region is ongoing. Russia carried out 23 airstrikes and dropped 27 guided bombs. Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 attacks.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation from the territory of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.
