This was reported by Ukraine’s Ambassador to the European Union, Vsevolod Chentsov, in an interview with Politico.
He stated that Kyiv urgently needs Western-made interceptor missiles due to escalating attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and residential areas.
"And unfortunately the attacks are getting more sophisticated," the ambassador added.
According to Chentsov, the Russians have equipped the Shahed drones with AI capabilities to make them harder to jam.
They’ve started equipping them with the capability to recognize targets even if they’re disconnected from the network, so if they’re flying offline they can still see the object that resembles the power station," he explained.
- In November, it was reported that Russia was attempting to introduce AI into drones to enable them to "communicate" with each other and bypass Ukraine's air defense systems.
