Donetsk regional governor tells how many residents remain in Chasiv Yar
There are 679 residents who refuse to leave Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region despite constant Russian attacks
This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin during a telethon.
He stressed that the delivery of humanitarian aid to the town is hampered by constant Russian shelling.
"The town of Chasiv Yar is almost completely destroyed. Unfortunately, there are still 679 people who do not want to leave. Every day it is getting harder and harder to bring in humanitarian aid because all the roads to the town are under attack by the enemy," said Filashkin.
The head of the Regional Military Administration also noted that rescuers, police units and international partners can deliver humanitarian and medical aid to residents either in the morning or late at night.
"There are about a thousand people left in the Krasnohorivka community who have no particular desire to leave, but we have eacuated all the children from the front line," Filashkin added.
- On May 7, the head of the Chasiv Yar military administration, Serhiy Chaus, said that 680 civilians remained in the town. According to him, there is still a possibility to evacuate from Chasiv Yar.
