Forced evacuation of children from Kupyansk right bank to finish soon – Military Administration
Andriy Besedin, the head of the Kupyansk city military administration, told how many people and children remain in the Kupyansk community
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"More than two weeks ago, we announced the forced evacuation of children from the right bank of the Kupyansk community. As of September 15, there were 158 children in the area. Today, only seven children and four families remain. I believe we will complete the forced evacuation by the end of the week, marking another victory for us. The children and their families will be relocated to safe areas. This is crucial because children deserve to study, play, and enjoy their childhood, not to be living near the front line, just 6 km away, witnessing the ongoing conflict. Therefore, the situation with the evacuation of children is progressing well. The process continues and will be finished soon," said Besedin.
There are still 6,300 civilians on the territory, he said.
"Each of them has signed a refusal. Every day, all services are working tirelessly to persuade people to leave, fully aware of the complexity of the situation. There are areas, especially in the city of Kupyansk, on the left bank, in Zaoskillia, where we no longer have access. These areas have been cut off from civilization: no critical infrastructure, no water, no gas, no electricity. Yet, more than 300 people remain there, waiting for something unknown. That’s why we continue our efforts—bringing them information, reaching out, and trying to evacuate them. Most of them are elderly, who have lived there all their lives," added Besedin.
