The press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported the information.

The presentation was held as part of programs for implementing innovations and developing the army of the future.

During the event, several domestic manufacturers showcased more than a dozen drone models. Some of these drones are capable of carrying up to 3 kg of payload. Experienced UAV operators—potential users of the latest battlefield technology—directly observed the demonstration flights.

"Russia continues to enhance its capabilities in using fiber-optic-controlled drone technologies, so it is crucial to neutralize its advantages in this segment. Domestic manufacturers are demonstrating their readiness to quickly adapt to modern wartime challenges and implement cutting-edge developments. Today, as evidence of this, we see the successful performance of these systems, their efficiency, and, equally important, their readiness for rapid scaling to meet military needs," said Lieutenant Colonel Yevhenii Tkachenko, head of the Directorate of Unmanned Aviation Systems at the Ministry of Defense's Innovations Directorate.

The Defense Ministry noted that UAV operators—servicemen with Ukraine's Armed Forces—positively evaluated the tactical and technical characteristics of the drones, confirmed during the demonstration flights, and expressed interest in supplying such systems to their units.

"Although the technology is not new, it is extremely effective under conditions of modern warfare and active electronic countermeasures by the enemy. Despite certain peculiarities in the use of this type of drone, they are indispensable for successfully accomplishing specific specialized tasks. We expect that with their help, the effectiveness of combat missions will significantly increase," emphasized Senior Soldier Ihor Yu., an external pilot and UAV operator from one of the Armed Forces units.

According to Yevhenii Tkachenko, several systems presented at the event are already in the final stages of codification and will soon be delivered to meet the needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

  • Ukraine has completed the testing phase of drones with fiber-optic communication.
