Countries close to Russia doubt expediency of war in Ukraine - Scholz
During his visit to China, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that neighboring countries to Russia have doubts that the war in Ukraine makes any sense for the Russian Federation

Scholz stated that in the world, there is hardly any head of government who believes that this war makes any sense for Russia. He noted that this applies to those who are very close to Russia.
According to him, China has openly declared its readiness to participate in the diplomatic process to end the war in Ukraine. In addition, Beijing has positively assessed the planned peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland scheduled for mid-June: "This is a result that cannot be underestimated. And this is more than could have been expected three or six months ago."
