Russia's advance in Kupyansk sector: Ukrainian military reveals strategic objectives
Serviceman with the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade Viktor Petrovych says that the Russian forces have advanced in the area of Pishchane
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The brigade is located south of Kupyansk. There are constant battles and repulsions of enemy attacks. Every day, the enemy assaults our positions both on foot and with the use of equipment. The situation is quite complicated because they have advanced as far as Kruhliakivka in the Pishchane area. This makes it difficult to hold the front and defend our positions. That's why we are employing all available stabilization measures, trying to keep the situation as controlled as possible, though it remains quite challenging," said Viktor Petrovych.
According to a serviceman from the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, the enemy's objective is to reach the defensive line along the Oskil River and disrupt our grouping so that the Defence Forces cannot maneuver along the road connecting Kupyansk and Borova.
"But so far, the enemy has failed to achieve this. Together with neighboring brigades, we are holding the line," the soldier added.
- Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the AHILLES Battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ivan Sirko, noted that the Russian forces are suffering heavy losses in the Kupyansk sector but continue to press on.
