146 combat engagements reported at front, Russian forces most active in Kursk sector

Since the start of December 20, 146 combat clashes have been reported at the Russian-Ukrainian front, with 40 of them in the Kursk sector

Russian forces are still using artillery along the border regions with Russia. Velyka Pysarivka, Oleksandrivka, Vyntorivka, and Yastrubshchyna in the Sumy region, along with Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region and Kliusy in the Chernihiv region, were hit.

Frontline situation

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian forces stopped five Russian assaults near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Zahryzove, and Lozova. Three more firefights are still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army is attacking near Yampolivka, Terny, Ivanivka, Torske, Hryhorivka, and the Serebryansky forest. A total of 11 clashes have been reported in this area today, with four still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled six Russian attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar. Three clashes are still in progress.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces, supported by aviation, attacked Ukrainian positions near Toretsk and Leonidivka four times without success. Additionally, Russian troops dropped a bomb near Kostiantynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 31 times today in Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Dachanske, Vovkove, Pishchane, Novovasylivka, Novoielyzavetivka, Novooleksiivka, and Ukrainka. Five of these attacks are still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 19 Russian assaults in areas like Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Andriivka, Kurakhove, Dachne, Dalne, Kostiantynopolske, and Kostiantynopil. So far, 16 of the attacks have been stopped, and three firefights are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, 13 Russian attacks near Uspenivka, Dalne, Yantarne, Rozlyv, Bohatyr, Velyka Novosilka, Makarivka, Novosilka, Novopil, and Novodarivka have been stopped, with three more attacks still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled one Russian attempt to advance near Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Russian army made two unsuccessful attempts to storm Ukrainian positions near Kozatskyi Island.

In the Kursk sector, 40 combat engagements took place today, along with one missile attack and 260 artillery strikes by Russia.

  • The occupying Russian army lost 2,200 servicemen over the day of the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed 8 Russian tanks and 24 armored combat vehicles.
