The occupying Russian army lost 2,200 servicemen over the day of the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed 8 Russian tanks and 24 armored combat vehicles

Russia's total combat losses from February 24, 2022, to December 20, 2024, are approximately:
- personnel - about 770,420 (+2,200),
- tanks - 9,584 (+8),
- armored fighting vehicles - 19,823 (+24),
- artillery systems - 21,220 (+42),
- MLRS - 1,256 (+0),
- air defense systems - 1,027 (+1),
- aircraft - 369 (+0),
- helicopters - 329 (+0),
- UAVs of operational and tactical level - 20,600 (+79),
- cruise missiles - 2,943 (+0),
- ships/boats - 28 (+0),
- submarines - 1 (+0),
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 31,793 (+115),
- special equipment - 3,662 (+6).
