Russia seeks to legalize deportation of Ukrainians from occupied territories
The Russian Federation wants to adopt amendments on the "forced and controlled movement of people" from the temporarily occupied territories in case of "violations of martial law".
A corresponding initiative was submitted to the State Duma by a member of the Federation Council, Andrey Klishas, TASS reports.
Thus, the Russian occupying forces want to legalise the deportation of Ukrainians from the temporarily occupied territories.
According to the Russian politician, the State Duma has introduced amendments to the decrees of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the introduction of the so-called martial law in the occupied regions of Ukraine.
"In particular, based on the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, the following measures are taken on the territory where martial law has been introduced: administrative detention for up to 30 days in case of violation of prohibitions and restrictions established by the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, as well as forced and controlled movement of citizens from the relevant territory to the territory where martial law has not been introduced," Klishas said.
It should be noted that on October 20, 2022, Russia imposed the so-called martial law in the DPR and LPR, as well as in the temporarily occupied districts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
