Russian media report explosion on railroad bridge in Samara region
On Monday, March 4, an explosion occurred on a railway bridge in the Samara region, Russia. Reports suggest that support across the river was blown up. The damage to the structures caused train delays.
This was reported by the Russian telegram channels Mash and Baza.
According to their data, unknown persons tried to blow up a bridge pillar across the Chapayevka River on the Zvezda - Chapayevsk stretch. According to the sources, the explosion was heard around 06:15 am local time.
It is noted that the bridge's metal structures and fencing were damaged. At the same time, the concrete support was not damaged.
Currently, train traffic across the bridge has been suspended, three passenger trains traveling from Moscow and one electric train have been detained. Special services are working at the scene. A "Zagorsk" plan was announced in the region.
Russian media emphasized that there were no injuries due to the incident.
Later, RIA Novosti, citing representatives of Russian emergency services, reported that the train traffic in the Samara region was stopped due to the undermining of a bridge support across the river.
The Kuibyshev Railroad informed that five trains were delayed due to "illegal interference" in the operation of the railroad.

Later, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed that a railway bridge over the Chapayevka River in the Samara region of Russia was damaged.
According to their data, on March 4, at about 06:00, the bridge was damaged by blowing up its power structures.
The Russians used the railroad line to transport military cargo, including engineering ammunition produced by the Polymer JSC plant in Chapayevsk, Samara region.
Intelligence officers emphasize that given the nature of the damage to the railway bridge, its use will be impossible for a long time.
