Russia forces residents of occupied Zaporizhzhia region who own firearms to register
In the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, Russian authorities are forcing owners of firearms to register with units of the Russian National Guard
This was reported by the Center for National Resistance.
"In the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region, the guards and command of the Russian occupation forces are introducing covert measures to identify any centres of resistance to the Russian occupation," the statement said.
Residents who have firearms are required to register immediately with the units of the department of the Federal Service of the Russian National Guard in the Zaporizhzhia region. Russian troops explain this by introducing a so-called licensing and permit system for controlling firearms and ammunition.
The National Resistance notes that gun owners were forced to register after the results of sociological surveys in the temporarily occupied territories were published: they showed that residents in the occupation maintained a high level of pro-Ukrainian sentiment.
"However, these measures will not help Moscow in its attempts to take control of the TOT, because for most locals, Russians remain enemies," the National Resistance said.
- Earlier, it became known that on the territory of Russia, the Russian forces are forming new units of the Russian Guard to carry out so-called counter-sabotage activities in the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
