"Dictator Zelenskyy and his NATO masters are killing Ukraine": foreign fakes, manipulations for August 14
The Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations circulated by the world media on August 14
The Center published fake and manipulation that appeared globally on August 14.
Fake: German-Finnish blogger Kim Dotcom wrote on his X page: "A French journalist says he witnessed the staging of the Bucha massacre by Ukrainian forces and claims corpses were unloaded from trucks and positioned for the media to blame Russia. His evidence was presented at the UN Security Council. Who’s surprised?"
Refutation: The claim by ex-military Adrien Bocquet that the Ukrainian military staged the aftermath of the Russian occupation in Kyiv in 2022 is a fabrication intended to justify Russian war crimes and discredit the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Manipulation: Irish “journalist” Chay Bowes wrote on X page: "The Dictator Zelenskyy and his NATO masters are killing Ukraine with a death of a thousand cuts. The fantasy "Victory" over Russia is not only utterly unachievable, it's unbelievable. Only Peace can save Ukraine, not from Russia, but from NATO."
Refutation: Bowes is attempting to shift the responsibility for the killing of the Ukrainian people from Russia to the leadership of Ukraine and its allies.
- Telegram channel Iznanka published a video with alleged data from a sociological survey by the European Commission's statistical organisation Eurostat, which states that 64% of Ukrainians do not believe in the return of Ukraine's 1991 borders.
