Residents of Rubizhne, forcibly taken to Luhansk, hung Ukrainian flag and demanded return home - Denisova
Residents of Rubizhne, who were forcibly taken to the territory of the temporarily occupied Luhansk, staged a rally
This was announced by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova.
They hung a Ukrainian flag on the building of the dormitory of the Pedagogical Institute and demanded to return to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.
People said that the invaders destroyed their houses, and now they are forcing them to live in a dormitory and eat rations.
"The occupying country cynically and grossly violates the norms of Article 49 of the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, which prohibits the forced resettlement or deportation of people from the occupied territory. I call on the world community to take measures to assist in the return of Ukrainians illegally deported to Russia and to open safe humanitarian corridors from the regions of hostilities", said Lyudmyla Denisova.
