Putin's terms of ending the war is “unacceptable for no one”, Macron
The position of the Russian elite does not provide any chance for the diplomatic conflict resolution, Macron believes.
According to CNN the President of France Emmanuel Macron told this after the conversation with Volodymyr Putin, Espreso.TV informs.
“I don't see any diplomatic resolution in the next few hours or even the next few days. I`m definitely an optimist, but I should be a realist,” said Macron to the journalists in Versal before the summit of European Union leaders.
The President of France called a war in Ukraine “a tragedy… a human, political and humanitarian tragedy”. He was concerned about the images of a deadly explosion in a maternity hospital in Mariupol. According to him since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, “such humanitarian tragedies have happened repeatedly”.
“Weapons, deeply deadly, without legibility, were used right in the middle of cities,” said Macron.
Also the President of France emphasized that a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine “will lead to a total redefinition of the architecture in Europe”. And it will happen soon:
“These discussions are strategic and historical. They will lead to the historical decisions for our Europe today, in the next few weeks and months,” said Macron.
