This was told by Dmytro Peskov live on Sky News.
According to him, the history of Ukraine was changed in 2014 during the "illegal coup" that took place. Then Ukraine became "anti-Russian", and "everything that happened in Ukraine was directed against our country".
Peskov also said that over the course of "ten years" Russia began to "worry about its security".
When asked whether the war was a humiliation for Russia, given the number of troops lost, he replied: "No, this is a misunderstanding of what is happening".
But still, in one aspect, he admitted that the war went badly: "We have significant losses of troops. And this is a great tragedy for us".
