Presidents of Baltic countries make candles for Ukrainian soldiers
Presidents of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia made trench candles for the Ukrainian military, who will remain in their combat positions even during Christmas.
Latvian President Egils Levits wrote it on his Twitter.
"During Christmas Ukrainians will fight in the trenches. Together with Gitanas Nausėda and Alar Karis we’re symbolically pouring trench candles. That’s moral support for Ukraine and a confirmation that we continue and will continue to support Ukraine until its victory," President of Latvia Egils Levits said.
Such candle is hidden from the wind, it can be used to warm up and dry clothes. Soldiers make a hole in the ground and put a candle in it, so there is no smoke and no fire can be seen.
