Poroshenko: We agreed with Zelensky that we would be united, and that ruıned Putin's plans
In an interview for Ukrainian TV channels, Petro Poroshenko noted the joint efforts of the government and the state opposition in Ukraine had ruined Putin's calculation of internal strife.
“We made a great surprise for Putin. We had a few meetings with the President Zelenskyy, we agreed that now we will be united. I believe it's an adequate and correct behavior, when now all Ukrainians are not president, minister, leader of a parliamentary faction or party, or worker – we are all soldiers, which have to defend Ukraine. We are all equal. And everyone has a shared responsibility for Ukraine,” thinks the fifth president.
“Ukrainians impressed Putin with the blitzkrieg break. Ukrainians impressed the world. Because a few days ago four-star generals of NATO stated Ukrainians won't stand even for 72 hours. Then, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine created in 2014 showed unique abilities as one of the best armies in the world, they not only surprised but also united the world,” emphasized Poroshenko.
“Already, nearly 13,000 Russians have left their lives here as invaders. And every day the Russians will pay this price until they leave. The Ukrainian air defense system of Kyiv we created in 2014 today has demonstrated the best qualities. And Putin, who hoped to destroy air defense in hours, today was surprised to find out that more than 55 planes and more than 85 helicopters were shot down, including air force and air defense.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces have shown heroism. I want to say Ukraine will never give up. Ukraine will never forget. And we will never forgive what the Russian-Nazi invaders did and are doing in Ukraine. Putin will have no choice but to get away from Ukraine,” sums up the fifth president.
