"Only Putin benefits from it": Polish Foreign Ministry comments on protesters' pro-Russian slogans
Spokesman for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Wroński said that the protest movement of farmers on the border with Ukraine is being hijacked by radical and irresponsible groups, probably under the influence of Russian agents
He said this in a commentary to RMF24 after the incident with the protesters' poster, which called on Putin to "deal with Ukraine and Brussels", Espreso reports.
According to him, "anti-Ukrainian tirades praising Putin" could have been organised by pro-Russian agents or "useful idiots".
Such slogans, Wroński said, harm Poland and the reputation of the Polish people, as well as the protest itself and the farmers, who "often put forward reasonable demands".
"These actions do not help farmers, they do not serve to resolve the dispute with Ukraine. The only person who benefits from this is Russian dictator Vladimir Putin," he said.
Therefore, the spokesperson for the Polish ministry called on strike organisers to distance themselves from people who spread pro-Russian narratives.
- Earlier it was reported that Polish police had opened a criminal case against a farmer who, during a protest on the border with Ukraine, had put up a poster on his tractor calling on Russian President Putin to "restore order".
