"We consider the results of yesterday's talks in Istanbul to be positive. These are not final decisions yet, but the fact that Ukrainian negotiators have reaffirmed the need for nuclear and non-aligned status is significant progress", - Lavrov voiced his version.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine immediately responded to the words of the Russian diplomat.

"Serhiy Lavrov demonstrates a misunderstanding of the negotiation process. The Crimea and Donbass issues will be finally resolved after Ukraine's sovereignty is restored. At the talks in Istanbul, the Ukrainian delegation submitted proposals to Moscow on ways to achieve this goal," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko.

During the talks, Ukraine offered Russia an agreement that would include talks between Kyiv and Moscow on the status of annexed Crimea for the next 15 years.
