One day of war in Ukraine causes EUR 102 million in environmental damage
Each day of a full-scale Russian invasion inflicts environmental damage on Ukraine estimated at EUR 102 million or UAH 4 billion
Ukraine’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources reported the information.
One day of a full-scale invasion causes EUR 102 million of environmental damage. This figure does not include the ecocide caused by Russia as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
"Every day, inspectors of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine record the damage to the environment caused by the fighting. The figures are terrifying. Today we have about EUR 51 billion or UAH 2 trillion of environmental damage. This means that each day of the war costs Russia at least EUR 102 million or UAH 4 billion in environmental damage. Everything has its price," the statement said.
