Diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi said that the main lobbyists of Ukraine in NATO are Poland, Romania, and the Baltic states, as they understand that it is Kyiv that protects them from Russian aggression

He voiced this opinion on Espreso TV.

"It is very important that in the Central European region, in particular the Baltic States, Poland and Romania, a certain group of states is being created that are not only lobbyists for Ukraine and are firmly aware that they need NATO as much as Ukraine does. Because now these states are being protected from the aggressor by Ukraine. And if we look at the commitments that the United States and NATO had to strengthen the eastern border, they are being fulfilled, and I don't want to understate it too much, but by about half. In particular, in terms of personnel deployed in these countries, weapons, armored vehicles, and so on. In other words, the manning of these forces is slow.

It should be understood that if we are talking about 30,000 troops that NATO plans to deploy in these countries, then we need to compare the forces that are currently being used and operating on the Russian-Ukrainian front. What are 30,000 and how long will they last," explained Bezsmertnyi.

According to the diplomat, Ukraine is the only country on the European continent that can successfully resist Russian aggression today.

"It is very good that Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn understand this. Bucharest and Budapest are playing their own song. In Sofia, it is not known what they think. The president says one thing and then another. So it's obvious that being on the front line with the Russian military, these countries realize that they absolutely need to cooperate with Ukraine. After all, this is the only country on the planet today having an army capable of resisting the Russian aggressor. These words would be enough to respond to all the maneuvers taking place in central Europe. It is no coincidence that these countries are the key lobbyists for Ukraine's accession to NATO, because they are well aware that if you look at the European continent, Sweden, Finland and Ukraine are the forces they can rely on. The rest are in a state of formation," he added.
