Russian trace in Texas: international expert on US political disagreements
Yaroslav Voitko, a diplomat and international expert, told about about Moscow's role in the US migration crisis
He shared his opinions on the Espreso TV channel.
"Of course, there is a Russian trace, it is already visible. Russian intelligence officers, or illegal immigrants, or agents of the Russian Federation in general, are very closely connected with the same Mexican drug lords who are really escalating this whole situation. China is also involved in this. It is not profitable for them when everything is fine in the United States and the elections go smoothly," Voitko said.
According to him, Moscow's footprint has been almost always present in all US elections, not just the presidential ones.
"This year, the whole House of Representatives and a third of the Senate will be fully re-elected. Therefore, the Russians are interested in ensuring that not only former US President Donald Trump, on whom they are betting, but also other representatives of the Republican Party with his 'Make America great again' program are elected in November this year," he concluded.
- On January 26, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said he was ready to go against the federal government in protecting the southern border of the United States from the influx of migrants.
- White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a briefing that the Biden administration considers the Texas governor's actions to protect the US border "dangerous".
