Most Zakarpattia’s Hungarians accuse Russia of aggression – poll
This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Smartpol agency in cooperation with the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Uzhhorod National University
The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security stated this, Espreso reports.
71.4% of Hungarians living in Zakarpattia believe that Russia is responsible for the aggression. In Hungary itself, according to a Globsec study, the share of the population that believes Russia is responsible for the war is 54%;
67.3% of Hungarians in Zakarpattia believe that Russia is a threat to peace in Europe. In Hungary, the figure is 48%;
53.6% of Hungarians in Zakarpattia believe that Hungary should provide weapons to Ukraine, 28.8% are against, and 17.6% find it difficult to answer.
*The survey was conducted from July 2 to 5 among 510 respondents - residents of the Zakarpattia region who identified themselves as Hungarians. The survey was conducted in 18 settlements, both in those where Hungarians constitute an absolute majority and in those where the population is mixed.
