Ukrainian military leadership agrees to exclude all under-25s from mobilization - MP
Ukrainian MP Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk stated that the military leadership has agreed to completely exclude the mobilization of men under 25 years of age
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Regarding the idea of lowering the mobilization age for those liable for military service, which was previously mentioned by Roman Kostenko, this reflects the position of the military, and particularly our partners. They believe younger people will be more effective on the battlefield. However, we in the Verkhovna Rada are not currently considering lowering the mobilization age," Tsymbaliuk stated.
According to the MP, men under the age of 25 will be mobilized only at their own request.
"We reached an agreement with the country's military leadership that citizens under 25 will not be mobilized into the Armed Forces. Any conscription of people in this age group will be excluded. Men under 25 can only be mobilized at their own request, meaning they can only join as military volunteers, and, of course, those who already have military experience. However, there are very few people under 25 who have that experience," he added.
- In July, Colonel Roman Kostenko of Ukraine's Security Service stated that if the pace of mobilization continues as it did in June and July, the Ukrainian army will be fully combat-ready in quantitative terms by late 2024.
