Oleksandr Borodin, Ukraine’s 3rd Brigade spokesman, spoke about the tactics of Russian assaults at the frontline

He shared his opinions on Espreso TV.

"This is not just an attack on specific positions. Instead, they are trying to stretch our reserves and defense forces with multiple offensives happening simultaneously. In our area of responsibility, their assaults aim to keep us occupied so we cannot be redeployed. How successful they will be remains to be seen, but their goal is to stretch us out over time. This is a difficult situation because they are working on a larger scale and over a longer period. They’re not trying to take everything at once but rather to keep us in this state of tension for an extended period. I think this is their strategy now," he said.

According to Borodin, the Russians are beginning to understand their strengths and weaknesses at the front.

“The main danger, in my opinion, is that they are clearly beginning to understand their own strengths and weaknesses, and to view the bigger picture more accurately. They rely heavily on infantry units, artillery, and FPV drones. The second issue is that even though we destroy personnel, their numbers don’t actually decrease significantly. They have reserves lined up, so if one company is destroyed or incapacitated, another company immediately takes its place. This cycle continues with fresh units ready to replace those lost,” the spokesman said.

He noted that the enemy’s infantry component appears “almost endless.”

“There are multiple levels of reserves, which allows them to conduct operations not just in one area, but across many. Their infantry component seems almost endless. FPV drones and artillery: FPV production is clearly scaled up and streamlined, artillery also has never been a major issue for them, both in terms of ammunition and personnel. They chose this strategy deliberately because mechanized units tend to run out of steam quickly. This approach allows them to sustain operations for a long time and across a very broad front,” the military spokesman said.

  • The Russian army keeps attempting to advance in the Donetsk region.
