Military expert tells when assaults towards Pokrovsk will begin, describes situation in Zaporizhzhia region
Ivan Stupak, an SBU officer (2004-2015), suggested that in a few weeks the Russian forces will launch an assault in the direction of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
“I personally expect that, perhaps, in the near future, it's hard to say: days or weeks, most likely it will be a few weeks, and the assault actions will begin in the direction of the city of Pokrovsk. Judging by the way they have done it before, it will be an encirclement. It will be an encirclement in order to minimize their losses and maximize the time spent on capturing this city,” he said.
Ivan Stupak also shared information from the military about Russia's actions in the south of Zaporizhzhia region.
“There is information, our military say they are waiting in the south of Zaporizhzhia region - Huliaipole, Velyka Novosilka, at the junction of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. Earlier, the Russians made an attempt to advance there, they went about a kilometer, but then slowed down, and our military, who are there, say: “We expect them to do some kind of dirty trick.” I apologize for using such simple words, but this is literally what we expect to see: movement of equipment, rotation of people, i.e. something must happen here. It's hard to say to what extent, whether it will happen at all, or when it will happen, but we do expect it,” said the former SBU officer.
- On October 31, it was reported that the Russian occupation army was planning to launch an assault on the Vremivka direction using armored vehicles.
