Russia prepares assaults on Zaporizhzhia with armored vehicles – Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces
Russian forces plan to launch assault operations in the Vremivka direction, backed by armored vehicles
This information comes from Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, citing intelligence data in a statement to LIGA.net.
Reports indicate that armored vehicles are set to support infantry in the Priyutne and Levadne areas of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Voloshyn noted that Russian troops have conducted training on the use of armored vehicles at a training ground within the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, they are preparing to intensify combat operations with drone cover and anti-thermal cloaks.
"In modern warfare, technology isn't a cure-all. It's highly vulnerable in current combat conditions, and not always effective. Especially in the south, where the combat line stretches across open steppe, vehicles are easily visible and can be targeted by drones or artillery," Voloshyn said.
Meanwhile, he added, Russian forces continue using buggies and motorcycles for quick movement between positions, as well as to transport personnel and specific types of weaponry.
