Loss of Ocheretyne opens way for Russian advance in Pokrovsk sector - military expert Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, Defense Express CEO and military expert, noted that Russia is employing a sustainable strategy by leveraging its numerical superiority in both manpower and equipment
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“The situation in the Pokrovsk sector was partly caused by the fact that we strangely lost Ocheretyne. This area of defense was supposed to be held for a long time and steadily. Why did this happen? There are many factors that can be analyzed, but the loss of Ocheretyne allowed the Russians to advance in the Pokrovsk direction. Just like we talked about New York. The enemy used the rotation of our brigades near New York, as this direction was calm, to actively advance in this area,” noted Zgurets.
According to the military expert, war is unpredictable, but taking into account various factors allows each side to use certain opportunities to advance or form offensive operations.
“I hope that our military leadership will take better account of the situation, make fewer mistakes, and this will yield results on the front line. The enemy is using a consistent strategy - superiority in manpower and equipment and slowly cutting through our defense. Yesterday, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Ivan Havryliuk said that at the beginning of the year, the enemy had 400,000 troops on our territory, now there are 600,000 Russian troops, and by the end of the year there may be 800,000 occupiers operating on the front line. This indicates that the dynamics of the enemy's manpower build-up continues, while our mobilization does not yield the result we expected,” emphasized Zgurets
