DeepState analyzes potential for Russian troops to encircle Toretsk
Roman Pohorilyi, co-founder of the DeepState OSINT project, analyzes the Russian troops’ advance map and evaluates the likelyhood of them encircling Toretsk
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"If we talk about a kettle around Toretsk, it is too loud a statement.Currently, the Russians have merely identified a way and a place to enter the settlement from the direction of Pivnichne, and they are continuously conducting assault operations there. From the perspective of New York and Nelipivka, the battles around New York are particularly intense. The focus is now on stabilizing the situation and preventing Russian forces from moving from New York through the passages to Nelipivka. This isn’t a kettle; we have already explained that these are just passages. They are crawling through Ukrainian positions to Nelipivka, and this was the best way to show the situation,” he said.
Roman Pohorilyi noted that no large-scale advances have been recorded in the settlements of New York and Zalizne.
“But if we talk about the area from New York to Zalizne, about the pouch that was formed there. Of course, at first glance, you can see that they can move from New York to Zalizne, from Zalizne to New York to surround it, but it has always been bigger. The Ukrainian military is also monitoring the situation closely, which means they can withdraw if necessary. Currently, there are no large-scale advances from Zalizne to New York. So they are just coming from all sides, there are heavy battles, and that's all we can say for today,” he said.
- Since the beginning of the day, 195 combat clashes have taken place on the Russian-Ukrainian frontline. Russian forces focus main offensive efforts on the Pokrovsk direction.
