Johnson compared Putin to Milosevic: He has driven himself into a dead end and will only intensify the war
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin has found himself in a dead end and will only intensify the destruction of Ukrainian cities.
He said this in an interview with several European publications, citing European Truth.
"He (Putin) Sees no way out of the impasse in which he found himself, except to continue the extermination, the grinding of innocent people in innocent European cities," Johnson said.
At the same time, the British Prime Minister refused to create a no-fly zone over Ukraine, which was demanded by the Ukrainian leadership led by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"The logic would be that Russian planes would be shot down. And that would draw us into the logic of confrontation," Johnson said. According to him, Russia needs to be persuaded to cooperate.
Johnson compared Putin to Yugoslav dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
"There is a strong analogy between Putin's behavior and Slobodan Milosevic's recent years. Both leaders have been in power for a long time, both have become increasingly autocratic and sought to strengthen their positions in their countries," Johnson said.
It will be recalled that on March 11, 2006, Slobodan Milosevic was found dead in his cell in the prison of the Hague Tribunal. He died of a heart attack.
